Bouée Leo began with the following observation: the evolution of the environment in coastal areas is largely uncertain due to a lack of operational tools. The need for observation is clearly recognized as imperative if we want to know and understand how land and marine ecosystems respond to natural environmental constraints and human impact. Our goal is to develop routine monitoring through a network of profiling buoys, adapted to the environment and for our needs, which can provide large quantities of reliable and interpretable data at a reasonable cost. The founder is from the Villefranche sur Mer Oceanological Observatory - UMS 829 (Paris VI - CNRS).
